ASTO partnered once again with Researchers’ Night, held on September 27, 2024, in Évora. The observatory team showcased the PACTUAL project - Cultural Heritage and Tourism in Alentejo: motivations and experiences of visitors and locals - by inviting attendees to “embark on a discovery” and test their knowledge of Alentejo’s cultural heritage and geography through an interactive activity. Additionally, they creatively engaged both children and adults in discovering the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a dynamic and enjoyable giant ‘glory-type’ game titled “Long Live the Goals!”.
Aiming to raise public awareness and foster reflection on global issues, particularly sustainability in environmental, social, and economic contexts, this initiative enabled ASTO to highlight its work and involve the community. This year’s event also coincided with the celebration of World Tourism Day.
