             Jaime Serra

Co-founder of ASTO – Alentejo Sustainable Tourism Observatory, part of UNWTO-INSTO since 2018, and currently a member of the management and scientific team. He has been a lecturer in higher education since 2000 and currently he is a lecturer at the University of Évora and a researcher at the CIDEHUS Research Unit, exercising his professional activity in the field of various matters related to the tourism sector. His research interests focus on tourism demand trends; consumer behaviour in tourism and quantitative methods applied to tourism. He has several publications in the field. He holds a PhD in tourism (from the University of Algarve), a master’s in business management (marketing branch) (from the University of Évora) and a degree in tourism strategy and management (from the Polytechnic Institute of Beja). He was a member of the Regional Observatory for Tourism in the Alentejo (2010-2015) and also participated in several regional projects and initiatives over the last fifteen years.              Joana Lima

Co-founder of ASTO – Alentejo Sustainable Tourism Observatory, part of UNWTO-INSTO since 2018 and currently a member of the management and scientific team. She holds a PhD in tourism and a master’s in tourism management and development (from the University of Aveiro) and a degree in economics (from the University of Coimbra). She is a lecturer at the University of Évora and a researcher at the CIDEHUS Research Unit. She develops her research activity in the field of various matters related to the tourism sector and she has several publications on the field. Her research interests currently focus on family tourism, social tourism, tourism impacts/effects, tourist experience and sustainable tourism. She was a research assistant at the University of Aveiro for eight years in several scientific projects. She is a member of the ISTO - Alliance on Training and Research in Social and Fair Tourism.  Maria do Rosário Borges

Co-founder of ASTO – Alentejo Sustainable Tourism Observatory, part of the UNWTO-INSTO since 2018 and currently a member of the management and scientific team. She holds a PhD in tourism, a master’s in information management and a degree in tourism management and planning (from the University of Aveiro). She has been a lecturer in higher education since 1998, currently lectures at the University of Évora and is a researcher member of the CIDEHUS Research Unit. She exercises her professional activity in the field of various matters related to the tourism sector and she has several publications in the field. Her current research interests focus on sustainable tourism, tourism governance, routes/itineraries and education. She joined the Regional Observatory for Tourism in the Alentejo (2010-2015) and also participated in several regional projects and initiatives over the last twenty years.           Noémi Marujo

Co-founder of ASTO – Alentejo Sustainable Tourism Observatory, part of UNWTO-INSTO since 2018 and currently a member of the management and scientific team. Noemi holds a PhD in tourism and a master’s in sociology (from the University of Évora) and also a degree in communication sciences (from the University of Beira Interior). She is a lecturer at the University of Évora and a researcher at the CIDEHUS Research Unit. She exercises her professional activity in the field of various matters related to the tourism sector and has several publications in the field. Her research interests focus on cultural tourism, tourism, development and sustainability. She joined the Regional Observatory for Tourism in the Alentejo (2010-2015) as the researcher in charge of the UÉ team and also participated in several projects and initiatives over the last fifteen years.             Mónica Brito

She has a PhD in Tourism, Leisure and Culture (with a specialisation in Tourism and Development) from the University of Coimbra and a master's degree and a bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Évora. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Évora | School of Social Sciences, a researcher at CIDEHUS and a collaborator at CEGOT. Her research interests lie in blue tourism, health and wellness tourism, tourism planning and development and entrepreneurship and innovation in tourism, and she has taught and published in these areas.          Áurea Rodrigues

 

She has a PhD in Tourism from the University of Aveiro. She is currently an Assistant Professor in Tourism Studies at the Department of Sociology and an associate member of CIDEHUS, University of Évora, Portugal. Her current research interests include astrotourism, consumer behaviour in tourism and sustainable development of tourism in rural destinations. His articles have been published in several scientific journals, including the Journal of Vacation Marketing, European Countryside, International Journal of Tourism Research, Tourism Planning & Development, Tourism Analysis and Anatolia.
