ASTO became a member of the national network of regional observatories officially established by Turismo de Portugal. The primary goal was to enhance collaboration among regions in monitoring sustainability and developing best practices within the tourism sector, particularly in terms of management. This significant milestone marked the consolidation of networking and collaboration efforts. The official launch occurred on July 2nd at the Technology-Based Incubation of Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies.
Last week, Turismo de Portugal released a series of publications dedicated to each observatory, with ASTO being the first featured. This choice was due to ASTO’s distinction as the inaugural member of INSTO-UNWTO. The article highlights ASTO’s monitoring work over recent years and emphasizes the use of PISTA Digital technological tool for data collection and information sharing among tourism agents in the Alentejo and Lezíria do Tejo region. This collaborative approach fosters innovation and contributes to a more competitive and sustainable future.
